Snow Day

There is a tunnel 30 miles before my exit and I had heard there was 2" of snow on the ground at my house. So I got up and left moms house early enough to be home before nightfall because our highway can be a little scary when it is slick. Up to the point of the tunnel it looked like just another day, no snow. After driving through the tunnel though it was as if I had climbed out of Alice's hole into another world. The trees were covered with a light dusting of snow as if it was placed on there by a spray can of snow on a Christmas Tree. We were lucky enough to have 5" of snow on Christmas Morning and now a slight reminder of it again has fallen into the New Year. The grandkids were happy to hear NO SCHOOL, as if 2 weeks off for Christmas was not enough, because we all awoke to another layer of snow, on top of Sundays snow that had melted into ice. I honestly tried, I PROMISE, to make it into work but it was a little to slick for my taste so my Boss told me to turn around, go home and we would try again tomorrow. Let's see what tomorrow brings........
